What is Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR)?

Each plan lists the covered reasons for canceling a trip. If a person were to cancel their trip for a reason not listed in the policy as being covered, there would be no reimbursement. The CFAR benefit allows for canceling a trip for any reason not listed in the policy and reimburses 75% of the prepaid, non-refundable trip cost insured. The reimbursement for covered reasons is still 100% while canceling for something not listed as covered reimburses 75% (vs. $0 without CFAR).

Why are you making a point to explain CFAR can be purchased up to the final trip payment? What is so amazing about that?

Most other plans, if not all, limit CFAR purchase to within 14-21 days of the initial trip payment. Once past that limit, purchasing a CFAR plan is not possible. Our Student Group plan allows you to purchase CFAR up to the final payment. This offers greater flexibility and peace of mind.

What other benefits stand out vs. other student group plans?

I'm glad you asked! Aside from the flexibility when purchasing CFAR, our Student Group plans' rates are equal and often better than individual plans with similar benefits. While this used to be the norm, ever since Covid insurance companies either significantly raised the rates for group plans or more often stopped offering group plans altogether.

Another great benefit is, our plan allows for chaperones to be included in the group plan, with special rates applied specifically to them.

Lastly, if any students live in NY state, they'll be glad to know our plan includes Cancel for Fortuitous Reason (CFFR). Because NY state doesn't alow for CFAR to be sold, CFFR is an equivalent option to CFAR although with slightly less flexibility.

How do I make a claim?

How long does it take to process a claim?

Online submissions have an average turnaround time of 7-10 business days. This is from from the time ALL of the required paperwork is sent to the time a decision is reached. Email and direct mail submissions can take a bit longer.
